Side Tracked

Last April I acquired an infection which caused an abscess on my spine leaving me a paraplegic. Although fighting my way back, I find my wonderful shop inaccessible at present so all of my projects remain on hold. I cannot think of any better therapy, both mental and physical to get back to the hobby I love. Until then I shall continue to read up on woodworking techniques, review some musical instrument history and share some older projects through this blog.

God save me from boredom!!!

For a Tutorial on how to build guitars please visit ThunderHouse Instruments web pages.

I realize a Blog is not the proper vehicle to display the projects below but it serves to divert my mind from boredom until I can rewrite my web pages.

My website is in dire need of updating as it lacks photographs to reinforce the verbal instructions. I hope to remedy this some time in the future. Until then I'll post some projects here.

(Under each project below, click on "Read More" to view photographs of each project. "Read More" only expands the projects to show photos and does not expand other short posts although the command appears)

Hi Yuri,

Thanks for having a look at my blog

http://gregsguitars.blogspot.com/

Building guitars is a great hobby ,as you obviously know.I still have heaps to learn but I really enjoy the hurdles!

I am sorry to hear about your problem ,but it sounds like you have a great attitude and outlook.

My wife is a nurse in a Spinal rehab hospital down here in Australia, and it does amaze me how people can adapt to a new way of life and get on with it.

I find it is really inspiring..

Best of luck with it all and I will be keeping an eye on your site to see what you are up to.

Cheers

Greg

Yuri,
Greg's blog pointed me over to your site - fantastic. I've just fallen in love with Les Pauls again - I've I go back to electrics, I am blaming you.

A year on, I hope you're getting that work shop together so you can access the tools you need to make more beauties.

Best wishes

Hi Yuri,

I also got to your blog through Greg's page. You have some very nice guitars that you have built, but I have to say the Gibson EB-1 is definately my favorite! I have always loved that shape in a guitar.

I also ready your other page about your 'adventures' through the health care system. I found it to be a very interesting read. I am glad to hear that you are making good progress in your re-habilitation and that you have such a fantastic attitude about the whole thing. I am not sure I would have the same attitude if it were to happen to me.

Although I live in NY, my father and his side of my family are from Hamilton an most still live there.
